An Obama Minute
Posted Apr 15, 11:19 AM
While I have worked in many ways to engage locally and globally as a citizen, I don’t believe I’ve ever felt a calling as strong as the one I feel now to support Senator Barack Obama for President in 2008. I have never been as passionate about a political campaign as I am now!
To demonstrate my commitment, I have just joined a clever and creative flash event designed to raise one million dollars for Barack Obama in just one minute: www.AnObamaMinute.com. The goal is to bring over 10,000 people together to each donate $100 (if you can only give $50 or even just $10 we’d love to have you on board) to Barack Obama at exactly 1pm EST on Monday, April 21st.
Sign up today to join the million dollar minute: www.AnObamaMinute.com
This grassroots effort was launched this past Thursday and already over 1,200 people have committed to making a donation during the million dollar minute. I’d really like you to be part of the million dollar minute with me! 10,000 of us will come together on April 21st to donate $100 at once raising $1 Million dollar in 1 minute, An Obama Minute. All donations will go directly to Barack Obama via An Obama Minute fundraising page on the Barack Obama site.
To participate, you need to register your name and email at www.AnObamaMinute.com We’ll keep you updated as we move towards April 21st. I am emailing you along with many other friends and associates in my address book. If each one of us can get 10 other people to register at AnObamaMinute.com, we will achieve a truly historical minute on April 21st.
I am truly relying on my personal network of friends and associates to make An Obama Minute a remarkable moment!!

Hey guys! So I’m sitting in the Great American Music Hall catching up on emails and doing the on line check-in for our flights. I was reminded that I haven’t written in a while to you guys. I have been trying to be better about writing in general with the myspace blogs- but that’s no excuse. The mood for us is pure excitement right now.
The shows have been going very well, we have been plagued with a problem that we haven’t had in years, sell out shows. We do it so in-frequent that I even removed the ticket clause from our rider that said that the promoter is supposed to hold a certain number of tickets for our friends, family and members of the press. I guess it’s nice to have to put that back into effect.
We just came up from L.A. where we were able to spend a full day with your friends at Vanguard Records. We got some updates on the business side of being in the music business. The same old stuff, how many records we have sold, how radio stations are going to bat for us with Shawn’s music and what the next step is for working the record. It looks like we are going to be touring all summer and working on Shawn’s first concert film.
The hard part for that is out of the way- the filming. Now we have to edit it all up and figure out what else we want to put on it, you know – what would you guys want to see? Shawn and I have been tossing around some ideas and we are thinking that we are going to film an acoustic version as well… or something like it. We’re really unsure what we are going to do, I guess we will wing it like everything else :)
We’ve gotten a lot of great notes from you guys about the new record and we’re ecstatic that you like it. If you don’t, that’s cool too. It’s really OK to not get something – it’s expected actually. You can’t please everyone and most importantly all of our tastes change, sometimes daily. We try to make it interesting not only for ourselves but you guys. It’s easy to like one record as being your favorite, Shawn and I have our favorite Shawn recordings as well.
As a matter of fact we are currently enjoying a new song that Shawn wrote for the Traveling Pants 2 movie that is in post production. We don’t know if they are going to use it, but all in all it was just fun to get back in the studio with Shawn and Clay to record it. I’m sure it will make it onto a myspace page or made avail for a free download if they decide to not to use it for the Warner release.
Well, the show is over at the Great American Music Hall is over so I have to shut down the computer. Thanks for the support, you guys ALL rock.
